Cutting Remarks

Light House cut - amethyst
An 8 mm, approximately 1.45-ct Light House, cut from a Marabá amethyst (Marabá, Pará, Brazil) by Jeff Graham.

As the stone gets large (over 8 mm), especial in lighter colored material, I recommend cutting a table. This will eliminate the typical "eye" that an apex crown leaves.

This design works in natural quartz, tourmaline, topaz, garnet, and sapphire as well as lab-created materials. I use this for earring stones quite a bit.

Enjoy cutting your "Light House."
