Addition # 4 - This is fun to cut, and fast too. I like to cut this in dark Amethyst, it works well in sizes up to about 10mm for earrings. When setting the corners need to be protected, I usually just nick and polish them, so they are not sharp. This works well in Tourmaline and Topaz. Cut this in R.I. 1.54 to 2.14 (90.7%) without changes.
